Greetings!

Chez Nan is the culmination of a dream of a lifetime, which I was beginning to believe was unattainable.

In 1991, at the age of 51, my children, Elizabeth and Kathleen, encouraged me to lay the foundation by attending The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. After a brief stint of commercial cooking at the Hershey Hotel, I was accepted at the Culinary Institute of America. Driving to the school with my daughter Elizabeth, after 30 years as a registered nurse, I told her to "turn around", "let's go home". She didn't, and the rest as they say, is history. By far the toughest thing I've ever done in my life! Standing next to Julia Child while she filmed a show for a television episode, we created a relationship and communicated for years. She assured me I would see my dream become reality.

I put my heart and soul into the construction and remodeling of Chez Nan, almost a year-long project, I now have a place where dreams can come true.

Because of my love for the folks and the town of Blairsville, I wanted to erect a peaceful, comfy environment that can be used as an escape from the realities we face in day to day living. There are no harsh sounds of rings from a telephone, no blaring televisions, no newspapers to deliver devastating news. There is a home furnished with stickley furniture, a library of books and magazines, a bathroom that rivals the Bellagio's. There are thick cozy robes and fuzzy warm slippers, a breakfast of your choice - either full or continental style, three themed rooms aptly named... Elizabeths's - Out of Africa, Kathleen's Secret Garden, and Nana's Dream Suite.

When you arrive there will be soft fluffy towels, spa quality soaps, lotions, shampoos and hair dryers, an ironing board and iron, and a refrigerator with snacks and liquid refreshments. Eventually we will have an outdoor private spa for your pleasure.
